Scrapbooking using 6x6 paper pad - Sn@p

>> May 23, 2013

Hi guys! Jess D here again! I have a scrapbook page to share today!
If you know me, you know I'm a little bit of a crazy cat lady.... So, scrapbooking my housemates cat, Ollie was good fun! I printed these photos of him sitting on my desk in wallet size, and trimmed them down... I grabbed a piece of kraft cardstock, painted the diagonal lines using white paint, then dribble a bunch of yellow and green ink down the page. I used patterned paper from Bella Blvd, and some from the Sn@p 24/seven 6x6 paper pad  (the chipboard piece) I tore it into strips and layered it behind my bigger piece of patterned paper. Because it was torn, I didn't have to worry too much about the over laps...
I then gathered some die cuts, as well as a label from Chic tags, Lovely Day and popped it on top of my right hand photo.  I grabbed a couple of wood veneers, these are from SC - Snippets, Speech Bubbles, I added a big green jewel for the O and added the rest of his name using alphabet stickers
This side shows the title, which is also using more alphabet stickers, layered on to some Washi Tape
This corner photo features a flair button from findingnana, another wood veneer, which is the heart, I can't find it in store by itself, but check them out in this kit!
Have you entered this months Kids challenge? We've got some awesome entries! So, pop yours in too, on the side bar >>>
Anyway, have a wonderful week and Easter long weekend

May (already??!) OLW and March COMPLETED!!

>> May 22, 2013

Hello there lovely blog readers!! Melinda here with you today sharing my 1st installment of May's One Little Word :)
Just a quick one here for you this time - I am totally feeling inspired and want to play!!

As those of you that have been following along have probably noticed I haven't yet completed (or, TBH, started) April's task. I am really struggling with how/what to photograph for my prompts so I have posted in one of the class forum's and watched May's class and like I said, feeling totally inspired to CREATE :)

This month's prompt is all about little messages we are hearing or repeating to ourselves. POSITIVE messages!! Getting them down and focusing on them. I have 8 and just need 1 more!

Here is a little peek at what I have come up with so far both my 1st list and the 1st stages of my creativity.

That is a piece of kraft cardstock cut down to 8 1/2" x 11" with a coating of white paint literally just quickly painted on. I am waiting for that to dry to do some stencilling with my awesome chevron mask and and one of my fave new products Colour Shine by Heidi Swapp (head over here to get yourself some (or all!!) of this gorgeous-ness!!)

Well, there you have it! I hope you enjoyed this and I am actually really excited to share with you my completed CREATION when it is done :)

Also, I just remembered that I haven't yet shared my storage with you since it was installed!! So here you go:

Straight after it was installed

And filled :) Love it and it has made it so much easier for me to tidy as I go!!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Masculine Card - Using Sn@P PL kits used!

>> May 21, 2013

Jess D here to share a Masculine card...
These ranges by Sn@p are aimed mostly at Project Lifers, (people who document their lives through Project Life), but once I had a look at the range in store, I fell in love, and had to get them!
Here is the card I created -
I started out by flicking through the 24/seven paper pads, both the 6x6 and the 4x6, I selected the arrow background paper, and the "seriously" voice bubble. I then picked out a sentiment from the MFT - Graphic Tee set, and stamped it in Cherry Cobbler ink. I then embossed some kraft cardstock with my chevron embossing folder and attached some scallop ribbon and twine, to cover the join. I then attached my "journal card"  and grabbed out some Studio Calico chipboard arrow stickers, they matched the colours of the patterned paper almost perfectly! I also popped a strip of washi tape behind the journaling card, as a last minute addition.
Here is the close up-

Wishing You Happiness...

>> May 16, 2013

Hi Everyone!

Sandy here with a card that I made for this month's feminine challenge.

The background paper is from Kaisercraft. You can find the 6x6 paper pads in store here. The note paper is a piece of paper from another Kaisercraft 6x6 paper pad - Homemade Collection

The sentiment is a My Favorite Things stamp and I've tied a pretty twine bow around it. To make it look even more girly, I've added a couple of beautiful Kaisercraft Paper Blooms in the bottom corner. These flowers are absolutely gorgeous in real life!

Have a great day!

Washi Tape and Echo Park Paper - Hello Card

>> May 15, 2013

Hi guys! Jess D here, to share a card (in my usual style) featuring some Washi Tape
I started by going through my "scrap" paper stash, the off cuts I've got from other projects.... and came up with three pieces. The green one is from Echo Park Dots and Stripes, the dark blue is from Echo Park (all about a boy 6x6) and her dress is American Crafts (My Girl) I coloured Babette, from The Greeting Farm, using my Spectrum Noirs, and shaded her dress using the Speccies straight onto the patterned paper, to give it a bit more definition. I then built up my card. I used some washi tape (on sale for $1 a roll at The Stamp Spot today!) to cover the join.
I die cut a couple of spellbinders labels, and popped Babette on top, and added 5 roses, a combination of  paper flowers and resin flowers, as well as two rhinestones at either end. The sentiment is one that has been in my stash forever, and I rarely use... I don't even know which company it is from!
Here is the close up -
Don't forget to check out what every one else has been up to today, creating with Washi Tape!

Washi and Project Life

Hello there washi lovers, Melinda here on this Washi Wednesday!!

Just a super quick share today of one of the wonderful uses of washi!!

So, here I have a Project Life filler card that I have layered washi and then popped a little flair button (thanks to Michelle for the flair!!) onto. I am super happy with the result and like that it can be as quick and simple as cutting a V in the end and sticking it down!!

Happy Washi Wednesday and I hope I have helped your mojo :)

Only a few hours left of Washi Wednesday where all washi tape rolls are on special for $1.00 each.

Washi Tape - Thanks a Bunch card

Hi guys, Jess D here again! I have a clean and simple, one layer card to share today.... something I haven't made in a very long time!
I started by stamping the jar, from AC Dear Lizzy (not the same one in store, but VERY similar) onto my card base, and choosing some washi tape to anchor the jar. I then stamped the jar again, on acetate, and trimmed it out. The flowers were stamped directly onto the card base, and shaded using my Spectrum Noir markers. I then glued down the acetate and stamped a sentiment. I added a smattering of rhinestones, and some more washi tape in the opposing corner, then doodled around the edge of the card.
Don't forget! Washi Tape is on sale today, for $1 a roll (this is a crazy price!!)
